Matthew Clayton Glassof Marion, AR
July 29, 1977 - March 11, 2026
Matthew Clayton Glass, lovingly known as Matt, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on July 29, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, Matt was the beloved son of Robert and Patty Glass.
Matt was a man of remarkable intelligence, warmth, and dedication. A proud graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he earned his bachelor's degree, he carried his curiosity and love of learning throughout his life. Matt possessed a sharp mind and an even bigger heart, qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Professionally, Matt built a successful career with Farmers Union Insurance, where his dedication and tireless work ethic earned him recognition as a $5,000,000 producer. He took great pride in serving his clients and colleagues, approaching his work with integrity, commitment, and genuine care for others. Matt was also an active member of the Rotary Club and a supporter of Arkansas Disability organizations, always looking for ways to contribute to his community.
Above all else, Matt was a devoted father. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Ella Jo Sadie Glass, and his son, Tapp Allen Glass, who were the greatest joys of his life. He cherished every moment with them and was immensely proud of the young people they are becoming. Matt is also survived by his brother, Chad Cameron Glass, and Chad's wife, Kyleigh, as well as his cherished nephews Gavin, Anderson, and Huxley. He leaves many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Matt found great happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved reading and was endlessly curious about the world around him. He had a deep appreciation for good food and memorable meals, whether enjoying classic diners or fine dining establishments throughout the region. New Orleans held a special place in his heart, and he never missed an opportunity to enjoy the vibrant culture and rich Cajun cuisine the city offered. Some of Matt's most treasured memories were made on the water, redfishing in Louisiana with his father and later sharing that same tradition with his son. Those moments reflected the things Matt valued most: family, connection, and the quiet beauty of time spent together.
Matt will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories he created with those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
