Reba Joyce Cooperof Jonesboro, AR
January 20, 1941 - February 20, 2026
Reba Joyce Cooper of Jonesboro, AR, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Bernard's Medical Center just one month after her 85th birthday. She was born on January 20, 1941, in Nettleton, AR, to Warren and Jewel (Rickman) White, in the little house on Willow Road.
Reba attended Nettleton High School and was active in basketball, clubs, and she was homecoming queen and valedictorian. After graduation, she attended business school and worked at The Jonesboro Sun before discovering her true calling of caring for children. For more than 40 years, she provided in-home and church daycare, lovingly helping raise generations of families in the Jonesboro community. Countless adults today can remember ''Miss Reba'' and the ''coffee lady'', her best friend Miss Betty (Bowers).
Reba was a faithful member of Forest Home Nazarene Church, where her love for the Lord guided her daily life. She especially treasured her church outings and her beloved ''Lunch Bunch Ladies''.
She found joy in the simple things; a good book, sewing for her kids and others, a family gathering and lots of shopping with whoever would join her. But her greatest joy was her family. For 65 years, she shared a beautiful life with her husband, Millard Cooper, whom she now joins again in Heaven. Their love story was one of faithfulness, partnership, and steady devotion.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Millard; her parents; her brother Wesley White; and her sister Peggy Smith.
She will be deeply missed by her son Stephen (Susie) Cooper; daughters Louann (Steve) Hobson, Candy (Brian) Smith, and Susanna (Kevin) Townsend; grandchildren Stephanie, Ashley Casi, Zachary, BJ, Brayden, Cooper, and Wesley; five great-grandchildren with another one on the way; her sisters Mary Pustrom and Judy (Ralph) Bond; and many other beloved family members, friends, and church family.
Reba's life was marked by faithfulness, devotion, and a heart for others-a legacy that will continue in all who were blessed to know her. She loved deeply and prayed faithfully for others-a legacy that will continue in all who were blessed to know her.
