Peggy Sue Robertof Bono, AR
November 26, 1938 - January 5, 2026
Peggy Sue Robert, 87, of Bono, Arkansas, passed into glory on Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home. She went peacefully, surrounded by people who loved her. Born on November 26, 1938, in Black Oak, Arkansas, Peggy was the fourth child of Charlie and Allie (Jeffers) Jones and grew up in a big and boisterous family. In 1967, she married Tommy Robert, of Bono. They loved each other fiercely and built a beautiful life together.
Peggy was a member of Valley View Church of Christ. But more than that, she had a heart that sought truth and assurance in her salvation. Through her influence, the Lord nurtured a heritage of faith that has grown and flourished through four generations of her family. By God's grace, that legacy will remain, even though she is gone.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and a proud southern lady. She loved beautiful things and good food, and she never left the house without being dressed to the nines. She always had her nails done. She didn't want you to mess up her yard and she always had a new home improvement project in mind. After retiring from General Electric in 1994, she enjoyed shopping with her daughter, although she returned almost everything she bought at least once. But above all, she loved any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She prized family loyalty, championed her siblings, honored her parents, and cared tenderly for her husband as his health failed.
He preceded her in death in 2014, after 47 years of marriage, and it broke her heart. Also preceding her were her parents; a brother, Preston Jones; and two sisters, Bobbie Roth and Dorothy Henry. Those left to remember Peggy are her daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Nix; grandchildren Thomas (Rachel) Nix and Matthew (Carla) Nix; great-grandchildren Lyla Nix, Rosalyn Nix, Sawyer Nix, Cyrus Nix, and Layla Nix; brother Verleon Jones of Alton, Illinois; sisters Mickey Baugh, Judy (HR) McDonough, and Brenda (David) Kennon, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loved ones whose lives were all enriched by her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Thomas Nix and Matthew Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 12 p.m. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sawyer Nix, Evan Henry, Archer Kennon, Rickey Baugh, Hunter Parnell, and David Kennon.
The family wishes to offer a special thank you to Peggy's caregivers Tammy, Hannah, Crystal, and Charlene for the way they embodied the hands and heart of Jesus in Peggy's last months and hours. They will never know how much it meant.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital…
