Dickey Jay Fortner

Dickey Jay Fortner, age 70 of Romance, Arkansas, passed away on January 3, 2026.

Dickey was a retired firefighter from the Conway Fire Department, having served as assistant Fire Marshall and Captain for over 20 years.

He was a past Grand Master of the Free and Accepted Masons of Arkansas, a member of Green Grove Lodge #107 in Conway and a member of Romance Lodge #481 in Romance, Arkansas.

Dickey was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Clara Fortner, his sister Mary Fortner Collier, and his two brothers Ricky and Mickey.

He is survived by his nephew, 2 nieces, various cousins and special beloved friends. Dickey was a loving man who was always willing to aid anyone who needed his strong presence. He loved tinkering with his antique car, winning several trophies. He was an excellent cabinet maker and LOVED to hunt and fish. His deer hams were legendary.

His graveside service will be at Beryl Cemetery on Thursday January 8, 2026 starting at 1pm.
