James ''Jim'' Richard Grafe, age 70, of Avilla, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren.
Jim was born on June 11, 1955. He enjoyed a long and rewarding career, retiring after more than 20 years of service with Martin Marietta Materials. Jim had a passion for spending time with his family and friends, whether that meant hunting, fishing, camping, or indulging in his love for shopping. However, his greatest joy was always the moments shared with his family, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Wanda Grafe; his beloved wife, Dianna Grafe; two brothers, Henry ''Barney'' Grafe Jr. and Lynn Grafe; a great-grandson, Remington Hall; as well as his niece, Cassie Hightower, and nephew, Jeremy Grafe.
Jim is survived by his brother, Mike (Debbie) Grafe; his children, Jessica Bardales, Bryan (Krista) Grafe, and Becky (Marcelo) Franco; nine grandchildren, Noah (Madison) Hall, Zoƫ (Tanner) Oden, Kaylynn Grafe, Trista Grafe, Annalicia Martinez, Ada Bardales, Mariah Bardales, and Christian Grafe; three great-grandchildren, Roman, Baylor, and Warren Oden; along with extended family and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 300 Avilla E, Alexander, AR 72002, with Pastor Willie Grills officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at the church on Tuesday, December 30, from 9:00 AM until the service begins.
Pallbearers will include Bryan Grafe, Noah Hall, Marcelo Franco, Jake Cauffiel, BJ Hayre, Michael Williams, and Johnathan Rogers.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home of Benton.
