Bobby Joe Scroggin
of Leslie, AR
September 12, 1942 - December 22, 2025
Bobby Joe Scroggin, age 83 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, December 22nd, 2025 at his home in Leslie. He was born in McGehee, Arkansas on September 12th, 1942 to Robert Earl Scroggin and Artie Beatrice Given Scroggin. Bob was married to Lynda Sue Grant Scroggin for 55 years before her passing in 2020.
Bob loved his family and friends, his dogs, and the outdoors. He was happiest on his airboat in the Florida marshes, but a close second was being on his property in Arkansas where they built their retirement home. For many years he sat on the porch with Lynda watching the deer walk through the yard and listening to the birds when they weren't managing Lynda's Closet. He had many life-long friends, and if you were one, you knew he was a friend through thick and thin. There was nothing Bob wouldn't do for his friends. He met Lynda on a blind date, and they were married two years later after he finished his service in the Marine Corps. They were together for nearly 56 years before she passed in 2020. They were a team, a partnership, a commitment, a true love. Everyone referred to them as ''Bob and Lynda'', never as individuals. Life without her was very lonely for him, but he made the best of it and kept busy. He really enjoyed the friendships he formed over gun collecting. He was ready to join Lynda when the Lord called him, but he did his best to get by until then. Dogs were always in Bob's life from the time he was a boy squirrel hunting with his dad in SE Arkansas to hog hunting in Florida and then just as pets in his later years. Most of you will have known Zeke, Buck, Shorty, Tater, and Susie. Susie will join Bob's daughter's dogs in Texas where she will continue to be spoiled. Bob had a full life of fun and travel. He got into so many crazy situations with friends that it would fill a book. If you weren't a part of them, you might not have believed him, but I assure you they were all true! He also enjoyed building and welding all sorts of things including airboats, outbuildings, and boat trailers. Bob seemed to be able to figure out anything given enough thought. There are truly so many good memories. Bob Scroggin was a good man. An honorable man. A man of his word. He was also stubborn and loved to negotiate. He will be missed by family and friends, but a little of his light will live on in each of our hearts. He got his Christmas wish and is with Lynda again now and forever in Heaven.
Survivors include one daughter, Karla Sue Scroggin Grimwood (Patric) of Palmer, TX; grandchildren, William Reno Scroggin (Michelle) of Knoxville, TN, Taylor Sean Grimwood of Dallas, TX and Mariah Grimwood of Seattle, WA; three great-grandchildren, Kyndell Grace Scroggin, Isabella Sue Scroggin and Conner Grant Scroggin, all of Knoxville, TN; siblings, William Scroggin (Cathy), Edwin Scroggin, Christine Scroggin Roberts and Annette Scroggin Usher, all of FL; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Bob is preceded in death his parents, Robert and Artie Scroggin; his wife, Lynda Sue Grant Scroggin; one son, William Grant Scroggin; and grandsons, Burke and Robert Wullschleger.
