Randal Walker

of Little Rock, AR

September 12, 1953 - December 12, 2025

Randal Taylor Walker was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, respected police lieutenant, gifted musician, and faithful Catholic who went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on September 12, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, Randal lived a life guided by service, integrity, and quiet creativity. He was the beloved husband of Kim Ling Goh Walker and a deeply devoted father to Randal Cory Walker, Patricia Kate Walker, Haley Marie Walker, and the late Mason Widner Walker. He was a cherished brother and uncle, and a proud grandfather who found his greatest joy in time spent with his family.

Randal served honorably as a Lieutenant with the Little Rock Police Department for 22 years (May 7, 1990 - January 13, 2012). He approached his work with calm strength, sound judgment, and an unwavering sense of duty. Known for his steady leadership and fairness, he earned the respect of his colleagues and retired with distinction, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and honor.

Music was not just a passion for Randal - it was part of who he was. A talented violinist and composer, he created original works and performed with the ASO Community Orchestra in Little Rock. Through music, he expressed emotion, discipline, and beauty, sharing something deeply personal with everyone who listened.

A proud member of MENSA, Randal was exceptionally intelligent and thoughtful, yet always humble. He was generous, honest, and kind, with a calm presence that made others feel at ease. He also had a great sense of humor, enjoyed hunting, and found peace in gardening - simple joys that reflected his grounded nature.

Though the music has fallen silent, the love Randal shared and the life he lived continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His faith assured him that this is not an ending, but a homecoming, and those who loved him find comfort in knowing his soul now rests in the presence of the Lord, surrounded by peace, beauty, and everlasting harmony.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Ling; his son, Randal Cory (Jeena); his daughters, Patricia Kate and Haley Marie; his brother, Phil (Linda) Perry; and his grandsons, Ronan, Adrien, and Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry A. Walker; his mother, Alice Pat Walker; and his son, Mason Widner Walker. A devoted dog lover, Randal adored - and will be deeply missed by - his faithful companions, Ava and Charlie.

A celebration of Randal's life will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Times are: Visitation, 12(noon) -1 followed by a Memorial Service at 1pm, both held at Roller Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock.

With his love for gardening, Randal especially loved flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://www.arkansassymphony.org/give-support/ways-to-give/ (Please mention that the gift is for ASOCO in honor of Randal Walker), or Cathedral of Saint Andrew in his memory.
