Vivian Johnston

of Clarkridge, AR

August 24, 1948 - December 8, 2025

Vivian Arvella Johnston, 77, of Clarkridge, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her home on December 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 24, 1948, in Oakdale, California.

Vivian held many titles throughout her life, but some of her most cherished were those of being the wife of a veteran, mother, friend, and Nana. She was deeply proud of her courageous sons and treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often saying they filled her life with joy and purpose.

As a military wife, Vivian had the opportunity to live in many states and travel to numerous destinations. In her early years, she was a true social butterfly-outgoing, quick to laugh, and always ready to make memories. She loved sharing her travels and many of life's adventures with her dearest friend, Karen. Her friendships were precious to her, and she nurtured them with loyalty and love. Though born and raised in California, she built a full and meaningful life in Arkansas, where she continued to grow her family. She was a pillar of faith, strength, and hope-steadfast in teaching her children and grandchildren the importance of love, family, and prioritizing what truly matters. She was also a Godly woman whose life was guided by faith and compassion. One of her favorite scriptures was 2 Timothy 1:7: ''For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.'' She often shared this verse when offering comfort and wisdom to those who came to her with their worries.

Vivian is survived by her sister, Donna Davis of Escalon, California; two sons, Chris Jr. (Cheryl) Johnston of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Greg (Misty) Johnston of Clarkridge; ten grandchildren: Chris Johnston III Johnston (Cayla) of Mountain Home, Breanna Ice of Marble Hill, Missouri, Patience Sigmin (Clint) of Gassville, Arkansas, Trinity Pavon of Jackson, Missouri, Collin Johnston of Fort Edward, New York, Jared Johnston of Glens Falls, New York, Alex Johnston of Bau Claire, Wisconsin, Damian Perales of Clarkridge, Chance Johnston of Clarkridge, and Patrick Perales of Clarkridge, and five great-grandchildren: Kynlee, Kian, Killian, Kemerie Sigmin of Gassville and Oakley Gantt of Jackson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chris Johnston; a daughter, Melissa Johnston; parents, James and Ruth (McDowell) Johnston; grandparents, Samuel Gentry (Mollie) and George McDowell (Sarah), and five siblings, JB, Elvin, JD, Russell, and Jack.

Vivian's legacy of love, faith, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
