of Mount Vernon, AR
December 17, 1968 - December 4, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Frank Ussery, who left this world on December 4, 2025 at his childhood home in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. He was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with loved ones that preceded him. He was born on December 17, 1968 in Conway, Arkansas. He lived a life that touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Brian was the son of Barry and Connie Ussery. They instilled in him the small town values that truly gave him a heart of gold. He grew up in Mt. Vernon, where he was proud to be a Bluejay from the graduating class of Mt. Vernon High School in 1987.
On September 11, 2014, Brian married the love of his life, Martha, in Heredia, Costa Rica. Costa Rica held a very special place in his heart and he absolutely loved the time that he spent there and cherished all the memories that were made. Their union was filled with laughter, love and adventure, creating a family bond that was unbreakable. Together, they nurtured their children who brought immense joy into their lives.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Ussery; his parents, Barry and Connie Ussery; his brother, Bart Ussery and the children he adored: daughters, Jana Ussery of Mt. Vernon, AR and Charlene Berhenke (Mason) of San Francisco, CA; sons, Santiago Ussery of Mt. Vernon, AR, Patrick Ussery of Fayetteville, AR and Felipe Scott Ussery of Farmington, AR. He was a devoted father and his family was absolutely his greatest accomplishment.
Professionally, Brian was an Air Filter Specialist for Air Filter Systems in Conway, AR. He was known for his infectious smile that would light up a room and his wonderful sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him. He had a love for sports, especially rooting for The Texas Longhorns, much to the chagrin of his Arkansas-based family. Watching his son, Santiago play baseball and basketball was his favorite pastime.
Brian's battle with cancer was fought with great courage and dignity, and the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support that his family and the community of Mt. Vernon showed during his battle. The comfort offered upon his passing has truly been a source of strength for all his loved ones.
A Memorial service will be held at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on the 20th day of December, 2025 at 3:00 PM, with a visitation an hour prior, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Brian's life and the impact he had on all of us.
As we remember Brian, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter and unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
