Mary Sue (Oberst) Melson, 87, a resident of Clarksville, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at her home. She was born July 7, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Robert Owen and F. Lucille (Barton) Oberst.

Mary was co-owner of the Ozone Trading Post for 10 years, and read electric meters. She was a loving caregiver for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Doyle Melson; one brother, Larry Oberst; and two grandchildren, Marcus Melson and Lacie Peoples.

Those who are left to cherish the memories of Mary are her children, three daughters, Deborah (Bob Scholes) Melson, Brenda (Jerry) Wiewel, and Susan (Lissa Macklin) Melson; one son, Michael Melson; one sister, Judy (Louie) Heim; one brother, Jack (Linda Russey) Oberst; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are being made privately under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville, with a private burial at Mt. Airy Cemetery in Clarksville.
