Terry Lynn McClendonof Mountain View, AR
November 12, 1955 - November 30, 2025
Terry Lynn McClendon, 70, of Mountain View, Arkansas, was born on November 12, 1955, to Albert and Orthrene (Massey) Fletcher in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed from this life on November 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Terry loved the Lord and lived her life as a devout Christian, carrying a faith that guided her words, actions, and the way she cared for others. Her walk with God was steady and sincere, and she shared His love freely through her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.
She deeply loved her country and proudly supported her husband through his service in the United States Marine Corps. Terry made many personal sacrifices as a military spouse, offering strength, loyalty, and unwavering encouragement through every season of life.
Terry had many passions that filled her days with joy and purpose. She was an avid reader, a loyal Arkansas Razorback basketball fan, and found peace and happiness tending to her flower gardens. She was a gifted seamstress with talents for sewing, quilting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her patience and creativity. Most recently, she discovered a love for painting and embraced the challenge of learning something new with enthusiasm.
She was also an excellent cook and took special pride in her gardening and canning. Terry was very frugal, always resourceful, and believed in making the most of what she had. She shared the fruits of her labor generously, often delivering jars of home canned goods and garden produce to widows, children, and anyone in need of support. Giving to others was one of her greatest joys, and she did so with a humble, tender heart. Terry loved to laugh, and her warmth made her the kind of person others naturally gravitated toward.
Terry is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David McClendon; her son, James McClendon; and her daughter, Katherine Blacksmith (Tim). She leaves behind five grandchildren, Sean Blacksmith, Charity Holmes, Finnley Weston, Willow Smith and Stella Weston; who were a great source of joy to her. She is also survived by two nieces, Beth Smith and Lori Weston, along with a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory always.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Orthrene Fletcher, and her sister, Sandy Christianson.
Terry will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer here, the memory of her love, laughter, and gentle strength will forever remain.
