Thomas Wesley Gunter

of North Little Rock, AR

July 16, 1933 - November 23, 2025

Thomas Wesley Gunter ''Pat'', age 92, of Sherwood passed away November 23, 2025. Pat was born July 16,1933 in Vilonia, AR to Jack and Lila Gunter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois ''Jean''; his parents; three brothers, JD, Elmer Lee and Sam; a daughter, Laura; a granddaughter, Trisha Gunter and great-grandson, Matthew Treadway.

He is survived by two sons, Terry Gunter (wife, Allison) and Tim Gunter (wife, Donna); a daughter, Joy Gunter; three grandsons, Trent Gunter, Travis Gunter (wife, Jordan) and Trevor Gunter; two granddaughters, Katie Treadway (husband, Austin) and Kelsey Ferrell (husband, Mitch); five great-grandchildren, Cruz and Nash Gunter, Haley and Will Treadway and Kamryn Ferrell. Pat always considered his longtime neighbors as family: Greg and Kelley Kelley and their children, Caleb and Hannah. Tracy Morgan was a special family friend. He loved them all dearly.

Pat worked as a Pipefitter through Local 155 for over 30 years and worked on many of the larger building projects across Arkansas. He was very proud to have served in the Army as a master tank driver in the Korean War. He used to laugh that the government automatically slotted him as a driver, assuming that someone who listed ''farmer'' as his occupation would have experience driving a tractor, truth was, his family had never owned a tractor when he was growing up. He was a life member of the NLR Elks 1004, proudly serving as an officer for 18 years. After retiring, he took special pride in maintaining Elks Park for over 20 years. He said someone had to do it and that it kept him young. He loved his Elk family and they loved him. He also was a life member of VFW post 11474. In his final years, he suffered through Dementia but always remained positive. Even though his memory had diminished, he was always smiling, humming and saying funny one-liners. A special thanks to Trent for taking such good care of Papaw during his late stages of dementia. ''Pat'' Gunter was a great son, brother, husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad. He always made time for others and was LOVED by ALL!!!
