James Arthur ''Jim'' Simkins, 78, passed from this life on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his home with his family at his side. He was born on Wednesday, April 23, 1947, in Long Beach, California, to the late Roy Arthur and Betty Joe Goines Simkins.

On February 15, 1964, he married Lou Ann Reynolds Simkins who was the love of his life and together they made a wonderful life together and raise their children. He taught his children what it was like to work hard and do a good job at it just as he was by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lou Ann Reynolds Simkins; two sons, James Robert Simkins (Judsonia, AR), William Barett Simkins (New York); four daughters, Angela Marie Simkins (California), Tracy Simkins Edwards (Greensboro, North Carolina), Pamela Christine Simkins Barnett (Searcy, AR), Deborah Denise Simkins (Lakewood, Washington); sixteen grandchildren and thirty nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Gary Simkins, Kenneth Simkins and Jerry Don Simkins along with many other extended families and many friends.

The most important thing to Jim was his family. He developed his own business as a Material Handling Installer in a construction business and taught his sons the right correct way to do a job with pride. He served his country with pride in the United States Army and continued in the Army National Guard for a period. He also showed his family what was the most important thing to him and that was his family. He loved them and showed them how to enjoy life and included them. He loved fishing, especially Blue Gill fish and playing and watching baseball. He was an avid California Angel baseball fan and was proud to wear his Angel Jersey and ball cap.
