Holly Herron

of Conway, AR

July 27, 1961 - November 13, 2025

Holly Haygood Herron, 64, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on November 13, 2025 surrounded by the family she fiercely loved. She was born on July 27, 1961 to Harold Thomas ''Corkey'' Haygood and Roberta Lee Sisk Haygood, who preceded her in death.

Holly spent 37 years teaching business and shaping future leaders, with the majority of her career invested at Bigelow High School, where she made her biggest impact. Her students didn't just learn from her, they remembered her. It was at Bigelow that they gave her the nickname ''Baldo'', a name that became part of her legacy and a badge of how deeply she connected with her students. She set high expectations, demanded effort and pushed kids to grow into adults who showed up, worked hard and didn't make excuses. Generations of Bigelow students still credit her for their drive, discipline and success in life.

Holly was also a fiercely dedicated mother. She raised two strong, independent children who inherited her grit, her stubborn streak and her sense of humor. She was never shy about telling people how proud she was of them and if you knew her, you knew she meant it.

Holly and Steve Herron shared a life together for nearly 35 years. In their younger years, they were always surrounded by friends, concerts and get-togethers at ''the pavilion''. There isn't a swimming hole in the entire state they didn't try out at least once. As a family, their best days were often the simple ones, cooking hotdogs at the farm while fishing, playing baseball and making memories that stuck. Their life together was full of motion, noise, laughter and loyalty, exactly the way Holly liked it.

When she retired, she shifted her focus to what mattered most: being Gigi. And she took that job just as seriously. If her grandkids were involved, she was there, at every ballgame, every school event, every big moment. Camera around her neck, voice loud enough for everyone to hear and a level of commitment that put every other fan to shame. Being Gigi wasn't a phase of life for her. It was the center of it.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Herron; her daughter, Morgan Horton (Steven Reed); her son, Spencer Balducci (Brenda Payne) and grandchildren, Shelby Horton, Gracen Horton, Tenley Horton and Ryleigh Reed, who adored their Gigi. She also leaves behind her brothers, Billy Haygood (Marilyn) and Tommy Haygood (Terri); many nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom lovingly called her Gigi too.

Holly was not delicate. She was not quiet. She was not the person who blended into the crowd. She lived big, loved big and left a mark on everyone lucky enough to cross her path. Her loyalty was fierce. Her opinions were strong. Her love was constant. And her absence will be felt in every corner she used to fill.
