Betty James, age 85, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1940, in Tyronza, Arkansas, to the late Hollis and Elizabeth Bentley.

In 1961, Betty married the love of her life, Norwood Watts James, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Norwood preceded her in death in 2018.

Betty was also preceded in death by her son Jeff James, daughter-in-law Cyndi James, and son-in-law David Brasfield.

She is survived by her loving daughters Holly Young (Spencer Register) and Kim Brasfield; her siblings Robert (Bob) Bentley, Chris Woosley, and Theresa Williams; her beloved grandchildren Brandon James (Emilee), Casey Brasfield, Micah Ralph (Mark), Maggie Brasfield, Bear Brasfield, Payton Young, and Miles Young; and four great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy â€" Wyatt and Grayson James and Maverick and Kohen Ralph.

Betty had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed gardening, trips to the beach, and going on cruises, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her warm smile, kind heart, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
