Gwendolyn Susan McMullan

Gwendolyn Susan McMullan, affectionately known as Susan, 72, of Plumerville, Arkansas passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Susan will be remembered for her boundless love, intelligence and compassion, qualities that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on September 12, 1953 in Arkansas, Susan grew up surrounded by family who instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness and faith. Those qualities carried through her entire life and career. A special needs teacher at UAMS Kids First in Morrilton, Susan dedicated her professional life to helping children reach their fullest potential. Her patience, empathy and heart of gold made her not only a remarkable educator but also a source of inspiration to colleagues, students and parents alike.

Outside of work, Susan found immense joy in her family. She shared a loving and enduring marriage with her husband, Michael McMullan and took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, Cheyenne Griffith, Heath Conner, Gunner McMullan, Kynlee McMullan and Abigayle McMullan; finding joy in their laughter and wonder. An artist at heart, she found peace in painting, reading and spending time outdoors, where she felt closest to God's creation.

Susan is survived by her husband, Michael; her son, Elijah McMullan and wife, Hollie of Conway, Arkansas and the late Zach McMullan; her brothers, Joe Hood of Texas and William ''Bill'' Hood of Conway, Arkansas and her beloved grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas on Friday, November 14th at 3:00 p.m.
