Bonnie Sue Harris

of Weatherford, TX

March 20, 1933 - October 28, 2025

Bonnie Sue Harris of Weatherford, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 28, at the age of 92.

She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, caregiver, and friend. She was born in Durham, AR-near Fayetteville-and moved to Little Rock as a teen. She graduated from Little Rock High in 1950, then worked for the VA Hospital until retirement. She used her experience there to guide friends and family seeking medical help. She was an enthusiastic member of the Immanuel Baptist Church Choir and loved travelling with them to Europe and to the presidential Inauguration. She also took many trips with family that included her nephews, Tracy and Gordon. She would terrorize them with her ability to pinch with her toes-hard! She was also an avid photographer and bowler.

In 2003, she packed a bag to assist her nephew, Gordon, in caring for his children - particularly Bradley, who has autism. Expecting to stay a couple of months, she remained 23 years. A relentless advocate for Bradley and in-house mentor to Casie and Gordon, Aunt Bonnie made friends wherever she went. Everyone at the local Walmart and HEB as well as Northside Baptist Church knew Bradley and Aunt Bonnie.

Bonnie was the youngest of three children of John and Mildred Harris. She was preceded in death by her brother Dale Harris and sister-in-law Anna Lou Harris, and by her sister Barbara Holiman and brother-in-law Ross Holiman. She is survived by her nephews Tracy Harris and John Gordon Holiman, and her great-niece Casie Holiman and great-nephew Bradley Holiman.

Visitation will be 4:00pm- 6:00pm, Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00am, Monday, November 10, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
