Freddy "Fred" Lee White, Sr.

of Bigelow, AR

Freddy (Fred) Lee White Sr, 85, of Bigelow, AR passed away peacefully at his home on the family land surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday October 30, 2025. He was born June 17, 1940, in Opelo, Arkansas in the home of his father and mother, Chester Joe White and Alice Pearl Van Meter White. Fred has 2 siblings: Lenora Jo Behnke (sister), and George W. White (brother). He also has two nephews he was close with, Bobby Jo and Larry Behenke. He has followed his parents, siblings, and nephews to the home of their Heavenly Father.

Freddy lived a very blessed and full life. He moved to Little Rock with his family shortly after he was born. At 10 years old, his father (Chester) and mother (Alice) bought the family land that has been lived on for 4 generations. He graduated from Joe T Robinson High school in 1958 where he was a basketball star known as Sure Shot White.

He began his career in the elevator business at the young age of 16, which would lead to a long-accomplished career. Fred began his career as a helper and later became a service representative. Freddy worked for four different companies throughout his career: Hartenstein, Otis, Montgomery, and Dover. At the age of 63, he retired from his elevator career after 47 years of service as a business agent for the International Union of Elevators Constructors (IUEC).

Freddy met the love of his life, Judy Annette White, in 1959 and they married on October 14, 1960, at First Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. They were married for 65 years the year. Fred and Judy loved, laughed, kept God close, and built a beautiful family on the farm. He loved his land and could be found often riding around on his blue tractor taking care of his many cows and 2 horses (Snow queen and Spirit) with his dog Trouble not far behind. Fred and Judy have two sons, Freddy White Jr. and Mark White, who will continue to live on the farm and continue his legacy.

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Judy Annette White; two sons, Freddy White Jr. (Tena White) and Mark White (Lorie White); four grandchildren, Jessie White, Jonathan White (Laura White), Jordan White (Carlie White), Adrienne Yielding (Stan Yielding) and 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, followed by funeral services at 1:00am at Roller-Chenal funeral home, 13801 Chenal Pkwy Little Rock AR, 72211. Pastor Phil Spigner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bennett (Nephew), David Bennett (Nephew), Jesse White (Grandson), Jonathan White (Grandson), Jordan White (Grandson), and Stan Yielding (Grandson).

The family would like to express their gratitude to Baptist Health Little Rock and Gentiva Hospice Little Rock for taking compassionate care of him till the very end.
