Martha Kathleen Lavinof Mountain Home, AR
December 5, 1938 - October 21, 2025
Martha Kathleen Lavin, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 21, 2025 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Born in Miami, Florida, Martha lived a life filled with love, laughter and adventure, always possessing an independent spirit. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Charles R. Lavin, and together they built a beautiful life. They moved to California in 1963, where they raised their family and made countless cherished memories. In 1995, Martha and Charlie made their home in Arkansas, where, after Charlie's passing, she continued to live with grace and strength.
Martha had a deep love for horses and dogs and found great joy in spending time riding and horse camping with friends. Her dogs were always by her side, while riding, driving through town or sleeping at home. Another abiding interest of Martha's was collecting gemstones and beads, turning them into beautiful jewelry. She was also known for her exceptional skills in the kitchen-her cooking brought people together and nourished both body and soul. Adventurous and independent, she lived life on her own terms, embracing each chapter with courage and warmth.
Martha is survived by her loving brother, John Keiser; sisters, Judy Moeller and Joanne Bell and her devoted daughters, Catherine Stotesbery (Gregg), Tracy Lavin-Kendall (Curtis) and Kelly Moedl (Roger). Martha was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Charles R. Lavin and her twin sister, Mary Moran, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Martha's life was a testament to strength, love and the beauty of living with passion. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, in honor of the loving care and compassion shown to Martha in her final days.
