of West Memphis, AR
June 22, 1935 - October 6, 2025
Carolyn ''Honey'' Bollinger Sechrest, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 90. She was known for her warmth, grace, and the way she cared deeply for everyone around her.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Noah ''Ness'' Sylvester Sechrest (deceased), and together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage. They raised three children, Dana Patton (Bret), Brad Sechrest (deceased), and Dawn Robinson (Blake) and built a close, loving family that was always her greatest joy. Carolyn taught for many years at Holy Cross Episcopal School, where she inspired and cared for generations of students.
She was also deeply involved in her community, serving on the boards of the Steudlein School and the West Memphis Animal Shelter.
In recognition of her extraordinary devotion to homeless and needy animals, a new West Memphis Animal Services facility will bear her name. The Carolyn and Ness Sechrest Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is scheduled to open February 2026. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, both human and animal, and in the ongoing work of compassion she inspired.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Carolyn and Ness Sechrest Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. Said donations can be made by contacting the West Memphis Animal Shelter at 870-732-7599. In keeping with Carolyn's wishes, no public service is to be held.
