Bettie Lou Hinchey, age 82, of Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of Monday, October 13th, 2025 in Sherman, Texas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on January 23rd, 1943 to Boyd Asbury Newton and Mabel Garner Newton. Though she spent parts of her life in the states of Washington and Texas; she was a long-time resident of Harrison, Arkansas. Bettie was married to Bruce Vernon Hinchey who passed away on December 8th, 1997.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Vernon Hinchey Sr.; her mother, Mabel (Garner) Newton; father, Boyd Asbury Newton and her sisters, Rebecca (Newton) Wilson and Carol (Newton) Clark.

Bettie leaves behind two children, Bruce Vernon Hinchey Jr. of Greenville, Texas and Becky Lynn Hinchey of Wichita Falls, Texas; four grandchildren, Paige Hinchey of Denton, Texas, Eamon Hinchey, Autumn Hinchey and Riley Hinchey of Greenville, Texas; one sister, Nancy (Newton) Younger and many nieces, nephews and cousins; all of whom she deeply loved and cared about.

Funeral services for Bettie will be 12:00 PM Friday, October 17th, 2025 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Visitation will be 11:00 till 12:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas where Bettie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bruce.
