Loyd Dale Hightower
of Marion, AR

Loyd Hightower, a devoted man of faith, a hardworking craftsman, and a loving husband and father, went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on May 5, 1938, in Saddle, Arkansas, Loyd was the last surviving of ten siblings. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by love, integrity, and an unwavering trust in God.
Loyd married the love of his life, Careita, in 1960, and together they shared over six decades of devotion, laughter, and service to others until her passing in November 2023. Their love was steadfast a true reflection of God's design for marriage.
A master plumber and proud owner of West Memphis Plumbing and Heating, Loyd worked tirelessly and honestly, earning the respect of everyone he met. His craftsmanship can still be seen throughout the community, and his kindness touched countless lives. He was also honored to help build Cypress Avenue Baptist Church, a place that held deep meaning in his walk of faith.
Loyd had a heart for the simple joys in life fishing, working outside, picking up pecans, and always enjoying his sweets first. But his greatest joy was his family, especially his beloved daughter Pam, whom he cherished dearly.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and hard work an example of a life well-lived and a servant's heart.
Loyd is preceded in death by his wife, Careita, and his nine siblings. He is survived by his daughter Pam, her husband Barry Pankey of Marion, AR, Grandsons Zac Pankey (Addie) of Springdale AR and Jacob Pankey (Abby) of Hagerstown, IN and many dear friends who will miss him deeply but rejoice in knowing he is reunited with his Savior and loved ones in Heaven.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church with visitation at 1pm and service to follow at 2pm. Burial to follow at Crittenden Memorial Park.
