Mary (Wewers) Stengel Edelhuber

Mary (Wewers) Stengel Edelhuber, 93, of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Charleston, Arkansas surrounded by her family.

Mary was born October 22, 1931 in Morrison Bluff, Arkansas to her parents, William Wewers and Stephanie (Seiter) Wewers. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Mother's Society and volunteered to help many hours at Subiaco Abbey. Mary was a true servant of the Lord, caring for her two late husbands prior to their passing as well as working as a CNA for years. Her family always admired her strong work ethic and how she devoted her time preparing many family favorites and spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of twenty-one years, Herbert Stengel; her second husband of seventeen years, William Edelhuber; her great grandson, Denton Gattis; her brothers, Joe Wewers and Harold Wewers; her sisters, Sister Adrian Wewers and Sister Ruth Wewers; Benita Siebenmorgan and son-in-law, Jamie Crawford.

She is survived by her two sons, Perry Stengel and wife, Tammy of Weatherford, Texas and Glen Stengel and wife, Shelby of Paris; her four daughters, Coletta Furner of Lavaca, Colleen Bowman of Paris, Elaine Crawford of Van Buren and Sherry Nehus of Little Rock; three step-children, Diane Edelhuber, Steve Edelhuber and wife, Lisa, Dennis Edelhuber and wife, Jackie; four sisters, Debbie Bentley of Fort Smith, Wilma Ahlert of Fort Smith, Sarah Wewers of Mentone, Alabama, Patricia Reid and husband, John of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, Allan Furner, Amber Edgerton, DeCee Schluterman and husband, Derek, Cole Bowman and wife, Amanda, Becca Wallmark and husband, Zack, Aaron Crawford and wife, Jennifer, Natalee Watson and husband, Jonathon, Marissa Martinez and husband, Fred, Andrea Ashley and husband, Dan, Lauren Wray and husband, Jacob, Kayla Sampson and husband, Nathan, Daniel Nehus, Rachael Gattis and husband, Brandon, Kelsey Toney and husband, Jon and Courtnee Lensing; twenty-eight great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

A rosary service will begin at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. The family will visit with friends 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the rosary.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at St. Benedict Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mark Stengel, O.S.B. burial will follow the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Paris.

Funeral service and arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Allan Furner, Aaron Crawford, Daniel Nehus, Cole Bowman, Austin Bowman and Tanner Schluterman.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Greenhurst Nursing Center for the exceptional care given to Mary over the past four and a half years, especially the love and tender care given to her during her last days.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations be made in Mary Edelhuber's name to Subiaco Abbey 405 N Subiaco Avenue Subiaco, Arkansas 72865.
