Irving BourgeoisI am a Veteran.

of Mountain Home, AR

November 17, 1931 - October 1, 2025

Irving Jules Bourgeois, 93, of Mountain Home, Arkansas entered into eternal rest in God's hands on October 1, 2025. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Lawrence P. Bourgeois, Sr. and Juliett Guillot Bourgeois.

Irving proudly served in the U.S. Navy from July 1956 to August 1958. He then transferred to the U.S. Air Force and served from September 1958 to July 1977. After he retired from the military, he went to work for Johnson Control at the Kennedy Space Center in Port Canaveral, Florida. In September of 1951, he married Joycelyn Gleason. From that union came three children. They were married for 52 years until her passing in January 2004.

In November 2007, he married Kathleen ''Kay'' Roman. This union brought much happiness back to his life after a long mourning period. They were married for 17 years until her recent passing on September 27, 2025. He and Kay came to Mountain Home for a visit with his daughter and son-in-law and decided that this would be a good place for them to live, so they returned to Orlando, Florida, sold their home and moved here to Mountain Home in 2017. They enjoyed all the nature that surrounded them in Mountain Home. They were members of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Irving's favorite hobby was woodcarving and he was a member of the North Arkansas Woodcarvers of Mountain Home. He was a self-taught woodcarver and created many pieces that his family will always treasure.

Irving is survived by his three children, Vallene Danhauer (Eddie) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Yvonne Steenken of Columbia, South Carolina and Allan Bourgeois (Dottie) of Lee, Florida; two brothers, Laigj Bourgeois of Metairie, Louisiana and Gerald Bourgeois of Rogers, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and three stepchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Bourgeois, Jr. and Adolph Bourgeois and two sisters, Gloria Duvieilh and Joyce Woods.
