Alicia Nanette Evans Cox

of Conway, AR

March 6, 1978 - October 4, 2025

''I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.'' 2 Timothy 4:7

After a fearless, hard-fought battle with cancer, Alicia Nanette Evans Cox, age 47, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on October 4, 2025. She was born on March 6, 1978 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Charles (Sr.) and Shelain Evans. Alicia had the personality of a warrior. She was a protector that was always humble. She embodied bravery and courage in the midst of her storm. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Katie Belle Evans and Gladys Brown.

A proud Conway native, Alicia attended school from elementary through college, leaving her mark not only in the classroom but also on every court and field she touched. A true sports powerhouse, Alicia was a documented legend in basketball, volleyball and track and field. Her name was synonymous with strength, determination and excellence. Although she played several sports, she was known for her unmatched volleyball skills; whether it was a dig, set or kill, she rarely missed a chance to get on the court and play.

Beyond athletics, Alicia was a woman of many gifts. She was an entrepreneur at heart who loved finding treasures at garage sales and consignment shops, often buying and reselling her finds with creativity and flair.

Alicia's greatest joy was her family. Her children, Alexis, Alivia and Drew were her heart and soul. Regardless if it was church, school or even sports, Alicia was there, cheering, coaching, guiding and loving with every ounce of her being. Her passionate ''Momma Bear'' voice could be heard in the gym, stands, bleachers, you name it. Everyone knew that voice, especially the girls and Drew, and they immediately did what they were told. Even the referees knew when Alicia was in the building.

A woman of deep faith, Alicia served faithfully in her church as a Steward, YPD Director, Youth Sunday School Assistant, Usher, member of the Hospitality Committee and Vice President of Finances. She had a servant's heart, always giving of herself to others.

Alicia leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dedric Cox; her three amazing children, Alexis, Alivia and Drew Cox; her parents, Charles (Sr.) and Shelain Evans; her siblings, Clarissa (Duran) Collins and Charles ''Chuck'' Evans, Jr.; her grandfather, Judge Evans, Sr.; her nephews, Lawrence (Terranee) Collins, Lawson, Langston and Landon Collins and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, teammates and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
