Charles Bryantof Mountain View, AR
November 21, 1945 - September 28, 2025
Charles Bryant, 79, of Mountain View, AR formerly of Canyon, TX passed away on September 28, 2025 at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. Charles was born on November 21, 1945 in Grand Saline, TX to the late Esker Reginald and Nina Lee (Whitus) Bryant. Charles attended school in both Alba, TX and Grand Saline, TX. Charles was a hard worker which is evidenced by his work history; he worked for Hughes Tool Company in Dallas, TX, Morton Salt Company in Grand Saline, TX while also sweet potato farming in East TX and selling vegetables at the Dallas Market, he worked for Western Commercial Transport in Grand Saline, TX, a self-employed contractor to SW Bell Telephone, and was an owner/operator for UPT Trucking. Charles finally decided to fully retire and he and Carolyn embraced the full time RV Life in 2013.
Charles and Carolyn were married on October 23, 1964 and both of them loved to travel. They enjoyed jeep trailing in Colorado, traveling to Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Nashville, and lots of stops in between in the many different campers and RV's they owned. They had several full time RV stops to Yuma, AZ, Aransas Pass, TX, and their favorite, Mountain View, AR where they became full-time residents in 2023. He was so happy to have finally enjoyed the tandem axle bus he'd always dreamed about. Charles loved fishing anywhere and everywhere and would usually change caps in between outings so he could double his limit. Traveling kept them busy, but they never missed more than a few ball games over many years watching Zane and Zoey play baseball and volleyball all the way through college; in addition to ball games, they attended many band and orchestra concerts of Emily, Ethan, and Lizzie. They were extremely proud to have attended all five grandkids' college graduations and even two Master's graduations. Charles' family was the light of his life, and he would talk about his kids and grandkids to anyone he met.
Charles and Carolyn were members of Crossroads Country Church in Amarillo, TX and most recently attended First Baptist Church in Mountain View, AR. He was also a faithful attendee of the Senior Center and nightly folk music entertainment in Mountain View.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 60 years Carolyn Sue (Lovvorn) Bryant; son Tim Bryant and wife Deyonna of Cedar Hill, TX, and daughter, Carrah Sparks and husband, Bryan of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Emily Waters and husband Brennan, Ethan Bryant, Elizabeth Trook and husband Wesley, Zane Sparks and wife Hannah, and Zoey Sparks and boyfriend Kole; great-grandchildren, Elliot ''Leo'' Waters and expectant, Charles ''Charlie'' Trook; sister, Shirley Clark and husband Danny of Gladewater, TX; double cousin, Kay Barber and husband Gary of Grand Saline, TX; special cousin, Duane Henson and wife Peggy, and sister-in-law, Shirley ''Tommie'' and husband Buford Davis; along with many extended family and friends.
