Irvin ''Cotton'' Wayne Brasfield, 84, of West Memphis, AR, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 11, 2025.

Cotton was born on July 8, 1941, in Blytheville, AR, the son of Ervin (E.G.) Brasfield and Nettie Mae Alford. One of six siblings, he grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.

On April 15, 1960, he married the love of his life, Jo Ann Battles of Blytheville, AR. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage and built a beautiful life with their three children: Donald Wayne Brasfield, Lorenda (Lori) Ann Brasfield Taylor, and David Alan Brasfield.

Cotton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo Ann; his children Donald, Lori, and David; his parents, E.G. and Nettie Mae; his brother Floyd; and his sisters Mary and Brenda Fae.

He is survived by his sister Betty, brother Billy, and sister Patsy Joyce. He also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Ashley (Bubba) Sellers, Casey Brasfield, Micah (Mark) Ralph, Maggie Brasfield, and Bear Brasfield. He has four great grandchildren: Olivia Sellers, Raylan Sellers, Maverick Ralph and Kohen David Ralph He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law Jeff Taylor, daughter-in-law Kim Brasfield, son-in-law Danny Epps, and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Shortly after the birth of their daughter Lori, Cotton and Jo Ann moved to West Memphis, where he founded Brasfield's Body Shop and Wrecker Service, originally located on 14th Street before moving to Broadway. Through hard work and dedication, he built a respected and successful business that served the community for many years.

Outside of work, Cotton enjoyed riding horses, hunting, and most of all, spending time with his family. His faith was central to his life. As an active member of West Memphis Church of God, he played a vital role in supporting and expanding the church, contributing to various construction projects and ministries over the years.
