of Little Rock, AR
June 27, 1965 - September 8, 2025
Jonathan (Jon) Charles Lewis, born June 27, 1965 in Little Rock, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025 at the age of 60. Jon was a treasured son, brother and friend, but above all, he was a devoted father. His greatest joy in life was being ''Dad'' to his three boys, Jack (March 15, 1995 - October 26, 2020), Thomas and Robert. He loved nothing more than cheering them on, sharing his love of sports and making sure they always knew how proud he was of them.
Jon graduated from Central Arkansas Christian High School in 1983 and Harding University in 1987 with a degree in accounting. A gifted athlete and natural leader, he was known for his competitive spirit on the field and his easy laugh off of it. As quarterback for the Mustangs and pitcher for the Harding Bisons, Jon made lifelong friendships that meant as much to him as the games themselves.
Professionally, Jon poured the same dedication into his work as he did into his family and sports. For over 30 years, he built fine homes in west Little Rock and the Chenal area, first through Lewis Home Builders and later with Southern Signature Homes. He had a remarkable eye for detail and a reputation for excellence. Subcontractors and vendors were among his closest friends and you could always count on Jon to know the exact cost of every item on each project. His colleagues and clients alike remember him as a man of integrity, precision and loyalty-someone who not only built homes, but also lasting relationships.
Jon never missed a chance to tell a story, make someone laugh or lend a helping hand. To his nieces and nephews, he was the fun-loving ''Uncle Jon'' who always showed up ready to organize the Thanksgiving cousins football game (with him as quarterback for both teams) or to order a pizza and watch a movie. To his siblings, Tim (Ann), Maurine (Buddy), Joel (Emma), Laura and Cheri (Scott), he was the younger brother they adored.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas and Robert and their mother, Mary; his brothers and sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins who truly loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Madge Lewis and his beloved son, Jack. Jon's family is especially grateful to his son, Robert, whose devoted care brought comfort, laughter and peace to Jon throughout his final years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who brought so much love and laughter to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Jack Lewis Memorial Fund at the Arkansas Community Foundation.
