On August 30, 2025, Kim King-also known as Yaya, Aunt Kim, Mom and Sexy Baby-departed this world.
Kim was born on December 3, 1968 in North Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1987. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Edwards and her stepfather and mother, Jim and Linda Wharton.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Jeff King of Roland and their three children, Tanner Pruss (Leighann) of Vilonia, Victoria Thorn (Cole) of Roland and Trent Pruss of Maumelle. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Addy, Bray Bray, Charleigh Bean, Oliver James, Elawon and The Hobster.
Kim is also survived by her four sisters, Karen Edwards of Maumelle, Amanda Winn (Clay), Melissa Bowie (Doobie) and Tiffany Shannon (Brian); one brother, Blake Edwards and stepmother, Dianne, all of Vilonia. She was blessed with a large and loving extended family, including many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Yaya was the perfect wife and a best friend. She was always caring, joyful and fiercely loving person. She courageously battled illness for more than half her life, yet rarely spoke of it. Her smile never faded and she never complained, choosing instead to focus on loving others, creating laughter and living life to the fullest.
She leaves behind a legacy of strength, grace and unconditional love. Kim will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8th at First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock with interment to follow at Rainey Cemetery.
