Craig Cotterell

of Mountain Home, AR

December 27, 1953 - August 18, 2025

Craig Charles Cotterell, 71, left this world peacefully on August 18th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Craig was born on December 27th, 1953, in Long Beach, California. Son of Howard Cotterell and Tresa Dodrill. He grew up in Bellflower, California, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep love for his family.

Craig was a loving husband to his wife, Gale Farr, for almost 50 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Linda and Shelly Cotterell. Later, he became Papaw to three amazing grandchildren, Jacob, Jasea, and Gabriel Cotterell. He was devoted to everything he did. He was always there to offer guidance, love, and reassurance. He cherished every family gathering, his presence brought warmth and joy to those around him, and a little bit of orneriness. (he would have loved that we added that last part, LOL.) Everyone who knew him knew he was the life of the party and could light up any room he was in. You could not be around him without having a good time together and a story to tell around the dinner table, and boy oh boy, there were some good ones.

Known for his infectious laugh and his ability to make everyone feel comfortable. He was always the first to offer help to those in need. Craig faced life's challenges with courage and a smile, leaving behind a legacy of hard work. He cherished his family above all else and found joy in traveling and adventures with his loved ones. Being an avid hunter and fisherman, Craig loved to explore nature and everything it has to offer. He never turned down a good time. Just like going snowmobiling in Colorado, ocean trips every year, dancing on stage at the tiki bar with his daughter, Linda, riding the tube behind the bayliner with his grandson, Gabe, riding ATV's, sailboat rides though the neighborhood, if you know you know, and deep sea fishing with his daughter, Shelly every chance they got, just to name a few.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gale Cotterell, his children, Linda and Shelly Cotterell, and grandchildren Jacob, Jasea, and Gabriel Cotterell. Also, he is survived by his brother, Dale Cotterell, as well as many cousins, including extended family, Wesley Dodrill and Donna Dodrill, Jackie Dodrill, Ricky Flynn, Abigail Conner, Carol and Charles Gray, Peyton Eddy, Tanner Eddy, and Savannah Eddy.

Preceded in death by mother and father, Tresa and Howard Cotterell, Aunt Betty and Uncle Jack Dodrill, Linda Klassen, Frederick D. Farr, and Genevieve Murdock Farr.
