Stephen James Elliott, 75, of Mabelvale, Arkansas went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on August 9, 2025. He was born on February 13, 1950 in Hershey, Pennsylvania to the late Harvey and Marjorie Elliott. Above all, he loved Jesus and sought to serve Him in every area of life.
After high school, he served on active duty in the United States Army before earning his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas. He later continued his military service with the United States Army National Guard. A man of many God-given gifts, he used each one to serve others - in work, in ministry and in life - but was most deeply fulfilled and impactful as a teacher and coach, guiding not only skills but character and values in the lives of countless students.
He faithfully served as music director for his church, using his God-given voice to lead choirs in worship and share the gospel in song. Gifted in communication, he blended words and music to witness and encourage others. His love for Jesus flowed naturally into his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Elliott; one brother, Scott Elliott Sr. and wife, Thidar; his children, Audrey Myers and husband, Dan; April Gibson and husband, David; Matthew Elliott; stepdaughter, Andrea Rabeneck and fiancé Dustin Owens; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephew, Scott Elliott Jr. and wife, Tara; a great-nephew and great-step-niece and other beloved family, including Stacie Kirk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jeffrey Elliott and sister-in-law, Alexis Elliott.
Funeral will be 9:00am Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors by the United States Army.
