Betty Jo Tidwell

of Enola, AR

May 20, 1946 - July 31, 2025

Betty Jo Tidwell, age 79, went into the arms of her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on July 31, 2025. Betty, also known as mom, memaw, Betty Jo, Ms. Betty and Betty Boop was born on May 20, 1946 in Hampton, Arkansas.

She moved to Mt. Vernon, Arkansas as a teen where she married and raised six children. Betty was blessed with numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. Our mom loved the lord and she loved her family with undeniable love and devotion.

Betty was proud of her career with the Conway Literacy Council where she helped many families learn and succeed in reading; however, if you were to ask her today what her greatest accomplishments in life were, she would tell you, her family. She was strong willed, intelligent, kind, loving and at the same time the most stubborn human being ever known to man. She enjoyed driving in her car with the seat leaned back playing oldies music, especially when visiting her hometown Camden, Arkansas. She loved watching her grandkids sing and dance, she was always there to clap and cheer for them. Collecting pictures and memories of her children was her favorite pastime. She was passionate about writing and storytelling, especially stories of her childhood and youth. She loved her Indian heritage, anything pink, talking on the phone to her best friend Barbara, Betty Boop, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and The Wizard of Oz.

Her church and family history were dear to her heart. She had a special appreciation for the missionaries that served. She was the gentlest soul we have ever known. No one was ever more excited or appreciative to open a birthday or Christmas present than our mom. The heartfelt happiness and gratitude she expressed when her family or friends would walk into a room will never be forgotten. To say she will be missed is an understatement. She will be loved and cherished throughout the rest of our lives.

Betty is preceded in death by her two children, Kenneth Farrell Williams and Andrea Denise Williams, as well as her parents, siblings and spouse, Joseph Tidwell.

Family will welcome friends to celebrate Betty's life Tuesday, August 5th at Roller- McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am followed by a graveside ceremony at Marcus Hill Cemetery in Enola, Arkansas. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Jumper, Dustin Totten, Wesley Williams, Avery Krone, Brandon Williams and Kelton Clinkscale.
