Lamont Kelsey ''Monty'' Sherrill, 82, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on July 23, 2025 in Little Rock. Born on February 4, 1943, Monty lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, his country and his work.
Monty was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Leo and Pat Sherrill and his brother, Gary.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda Sherrill; two sons, Monty Sherrill II and Steven Sherrill (Gabby); stepchildren, Randy Wells (Amy) and Lisa Swanson (John); his brother, David Sherrill (Glenda); grandchildren, Alex Sherrill, Piper Sherrill, Grayson Dauberman, Christopher Wells, Jordan Garst, Michael Erickson and Payton Swanson; two great-grandchildren, Asher Sherrill and Charles Sherrill; along with many other beloved family members.
A proud veteran, Monty served in the Army Reserves and completed active duty during the Vietnam War. His service reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that remained central throughout his life.
Professionally, Monty built a successful career in sales and management within the wholesale glass industry. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Monty was known for his passion for competitive target shooting. He also found great enjoyment in reloading ammunition, a hobby that combines precision with patience. These pursuits brought him both personal satisfaction and camaraderie with fellow shooting enthusiasts.
Faith played an important role in Monty's life. A believer in Jesus Christ, he often said he would always be a Baptist, yet he held a special place in his heart for Ivy Chapel Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Little Rock, where he found spiritual connection and community.
A celebration of Monty's life will take place at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, on Wednesday, July 30th with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately following at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, 301 Carnahan Dr., Maumelle.
Monty's legacy is one of strength, loyalty and quiet conviction. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ivy Chapel Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Little Rock.
