Waymond L. Teague, age 87, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away on July 7, 2025. He was born on March 14, 1938 in Tichnor, Arkansas to William Luther Teague and Cora Mae Tinney. He was married to Barbara A. Ozment on January 19, 1960.

Waymond and Barbara met in the 7th grade. She didn't like him, but he fixed that. They went to junior high, high school, and college together. Barbara being older (by 39 days), she finished college before he did, so she worked and paid for Waymond's last couple years of college. They would have been married for 65 years as of 2025.

Waymond graduated from White Hall High School in 1957, where he played basketball and football, serving as a quarterback and earning a spot on the East All-Star basketball team his senior year. His talent on the court earned him an athletic scholarship to play basketball at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. He later transferred to the University of Arkansas at Monticello to pursue his academic interests, graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College in College Heights, AR. After college, Waymond was drafted into the U.S. Army, where his typewriting skills earned him one of the few air-conditioned posts. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and went to work as a forester for various mills.

Waymond later retired from being a forester after many years and was a member of the Arkansas Art Educators. He and his late wife, Barbara, donated funds to the University of Arkansas at Monticello as an endowment to the art department. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar (mostly blue grass), gardening, and spending time with his friends and family. He tried not to miss any of his grandkid's school and sporting events. He with his wife, Barbara, took a large interest in the success and future of their grandchildren. When driving with his grandkids, he always asked for a #1 on the menu regardless of the restaurant. His favorite quote was ''Work hard and good things happen.''

Waymond is survived by his son, Daniel Teague, daughter-in-law, Jessie Teague, 4 grandchildren, Ivy, Tristen, Skylin, and Jaden, and one great grandson, Kye.
