Barbara Louise Ruiz of Turrell, Arkansas passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025 at the age of 76, surrounded by loved ones at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on October 25, 1948 in Jonesboro, Barbara was the beloved daughter of A.J. and Verneal McKinney. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jimmy Ruiz and her father, A.J. McKinney.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her son, Terry Ruiz and his wife, Becky; granddaughters, Alison Beal and her husband, Ryan and Amber Ruiz and her husband, Brandon Smith and her treasured great-grandchildren, Rogan and Myles Beal and Nalaya Ruffin. She also leaves behind her loving mother, Verneal McKinney; her sister, Paulette Watson and husband, Charles and many cousins and extended family members whom she dearly loved and cherished.

Barbara had a joyful spirit and a generous heart. She found happiness in simple pleasures, shopping trips, fishing outings, arts and crafts and cooking big family meals that brought everyone together. One of her favorite pastimes was her regular trips to Sam's Club with her son, Terry, where she delighted in picking up treats and treasures for her family.

Her warmth, humor and fierce love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
