Welza Marcella Pickering, 88, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on March 21, 1937, in Bragg City, MO, to Homer and Gladys (Short) Holloway. Welza worked as a nursing aid in Indiana before moving back to Arkansas with her husband and children and starting Pickering Termite Pest Control Company, where she worked until retirement. She was a member of Revival Tabernacle, and she loved to cook, vacation in Florida and visit DisneyWorld, and participate in family gatherings.

Welza is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Pickering, her parents, a grandson, Reed Pickering, and a sister, Maxine Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Barry Pickering and Vicki Wheeler; grandchildren Brandon, Adam, Blade, and Wiley; great grandchildren Ava, Jett, Aubrey, and Evelyn; brothers James and Danny Holloway; and many more friends, family and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, beginning at 2pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington, Jonesboro, AR 72401) with Dub Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetry.

Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
