Rev. Jasmin Nel Nembhard

of Little Rock, AR

August 5, 1945 - June 28, 2025

Jasmin Nel Nembhard, 79, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 28, 2025. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful servant of God. Her life was a shining example of love, compassion, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica on August 5, 1945, to Ashbourne Heath and Daisy Maud Grant, Rev. Jasmin Nembhard was educated at Kentucky Parochial School and Paul Island Primary School in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She graduated from Western School of Commerce in Kingston, Jamaica in 1965. In 1967, she moved to Freeport, Bahamas, where she worked as an accountant. Later, she emigrated to Toronto, Canada and pursued further education at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, and Humber College, Ontario, Canada.

Her professional journey reflected her passion for business. She worked as an executive assistant at Canada Post, Ontario, Canada, a personal banker at Barnett Bank, and an insurance broker with Alpha Insurance Company in various cities in the United States. She also worked as a stockbroker and financial planner for Waddell and Reed and an insurance agent for Combined Insurance Company in several cities. She earned numerous awards and was consistently recognized as a top-performing agent.

A dedicated servant of the Lord, Jasmin, was deeply involved in ministry and community service. Over the years, she held many roles in the church, including Sunday School teacher, Women's Ministry leader, Bible study teacher, prayer coordinator, choir member, food pantry coordinator, and church secretary/treasurer. Despite her demanding ministry responsibilities, she also found time to volunteer in nursing homes and crisis pregnancy centers. She completed courses in counseling and also became a certified minister with the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri, faithfully serving as a minister from 2009 until her passing.

Together with her beloved husband, Arthur, during 47 years of ministry, she planted seven churches and pastored eight congregations throughout Canada and the United States. She stood faithfully by his side as he served as a full-time chaplain in hospitals, prisons, and hospices for 28 years. After his passing in 2019, she continued to serve faithfully and wholeheartedly in ministry.

She was known for her love of entertaining, especially at large family gatherings. She cherished children, adored her nieces and nephews, and loved to travel. Though firm when needed, her love, generosity, and kindness touched all who knew her. Most of all, she will be remembered for her unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ, her profound knowledge of the Bible, prophetic anointing and her powerful, anointed prayers.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and service that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rev. Nembhard is survived by her children: Koreen, Wendy and Kirk; her daughter-in-law Erika Nembhard (Kirk) and son-in-law Leonard Smith (Koreen); her sisters: Rose, Pearl and Olive; grandchildren: Jessica, Sarah, Marcus, Kirk, Jr., and Kailyn; her great-grandchildren, Seth and Marsai; brothers-in-law and numerous very beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Arthur; her father: Ashbourne; her mother, Daisy; her brother Lascelle Heath; and her sisters: Adassa Cohall and Dazzetta Crawford.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, our church family at TAG Church, and her clinical team at Moffitt Cancer Center and Home Hospice for the excellent care and support they provided during her illness.
