James R. (Jim) White, Sr., age 92, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025. Jim was born in Rison, Arkansas on November 6, 1932 to the late Jefferson B. and Vera L White. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Patty White Jenkins and most recently his son, John Hoffman White, who died May 13, 2025.

He graduated from Pine Bluff High School, Ouachita Baptist University and earned an MBA degree at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

During the Korean War, Jim joined the U. S. Air Force and served as an Administrative Assistant to the 48th Fighter/Bomber Wing Commander in Northern France.

Having studied freight transportation at the U of A, Jim chose to have a career with the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring from their Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jim married Patricia Hoffman, his beloved wife, in 1961 and had two sons, James and John, who brought great joy to him through the many years.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia White of Little Rock and his son, James R. White, II and wife, Leslie of Arkadelphia; grandchildren, Matthew White, Rachel King (Brian) and Mary Beth White and his great-grandchildren, Winter King and Conan King.
