Dortha Ann ''Dot'' Humphries, 81, of Pangburn, Arkansas, completed her earthly journey on June 16, 2025. She was born on Saturday, January 29, 1944, in Pangburn, Arkansas to her parents, Dewey and Minnie Veona Murphy McDougal. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a faithful longtime member of the Pangburn Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dewey McDougal, JR, Jack McDougal and Billy McDougal; three sisters, Birtie Westbrook, Betty Sexton and Donnie Dickison.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Francis ''Sonny'' Dean Humphries; three daughters, Glenda Ann Dickison, Lisa Marie Laster and Ruth Ann Hehe; three sons, Darrel Patrick (Selena) Fouse, Daylon Keith Fouse and Matt Dickison; eight grandchildren, Sherina Fouse, Danielle Gramling, Brandie Spann, Colton Miller, Kevin Miller, Travis Laster, Monica Ann Laster, Cassandra Dawn Fouse and Ruby Otts; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; four sisters Lorene Altom, Wanda Treadwell, Lura Fouse and Millie Sansoucie along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family and many many friends.
Dot was one who could and did make friends for a lifetime. She graduated from Pangburn High School and continues to keep in touch with her friends that she has had since school. Her home was always open to anyone. During her lifetime, she exhibited the charge that she was given for her life to be a Servant of God every day all day. She was known to take in strangers and give them a place to sleep and food to eat as long as they needed it. They were often looked at as family and were treated as such like Nhoj Newman and Rhonda Kay Sisks did by the love that she gave them. She was very active in community activities.
Dot was well known for her flowers and yard work. She loved spending time in her yard building the most beautiful picture for everyone to enjoy. She would always share an arrangement of her flowers with her friends and often with strangers to make their day and would often times give starters of her planta to many. Dot had many talents and would make lots of types of crafts including paintings and would sell them. She was known for her cooking and not only did she do it for her family, but at several restaurants around town and in the area. The family always enjoyed getting together for family gatherings and enjoyed the good food that was prepared and just being together.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Pangburn Church of Christ. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy.
