Ronald Monroe SkaggsI am a Veteran.

of Bryant, AR

October 15, 1947 - June 14, 2025

Ronald Monroe Skaggs went to be with Jesus on June 14, 2025 at the age of 77. He was born on October 15, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Bennie and Alma Maurine Skaggs.

A proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School, class of 1965, Ron later achieved a lifelong goal by graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996 alongside his daughter, Sheri - a moment of great pride for him.

Ron served his country with honor and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Arkansas Army National Guard. His professional life also included successful careers in industrial instrumentation sales and in building and maintaining swimming pools.

A man of deep faith, Ron was a devoted member of The Church at Rock Creek. He greeted everyone with a warm smile as he welcomed them to the 9:00 service each Sunday. Ron was passionate about service and volunteered for the Rock Creek Food Bank, Feed Arkansas Kids and numerous other church ministries.

Ron also found great joy as a dedicated volunteer with the Little Rock Touchdown Club, where he cherished being part of the LRTDC family.

He loved traveling and participating in races with his beloved wife and travel partner, Wanda and their friends. A lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan, Ron delighted in attending Razorback football games and cheering for the Hogs.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Alma Maurine Skaggs and his sister, Frances Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Skaggs, with whom he shared countless adventures and beautiful memories; his daughter, Sheri Brown (Jason), his daughter, Kitty Smith (Rowland) and his son, Douglas Braswell. He was a proud grandfather, affectionately known as "Pops" to his grandchildren, Gabriel (Sydney), Carson (Corrie), Will, Kitty, Jia, Douglas and Luke and his great-grandchildren, Harper and Leo.

He also deeply loved his chosen family, including bonus daughters, Brooke (Travis) and Courtney and granddaughters, Eva and Liberty Grace. His dear friend, Vida Day, held a special place in his heart.

Ron will be remembered for his warm smile, contagious laugh, kindness, deep faith, enthusiasm for life and his servant's heart. He never met a stranger, made friends wherever he went and lived each day with joy and gratitude. His positive attitude, even during life's most difficult moments, was an inspiration. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Yarlagadda and the CARTI staff for their exceptional care and support.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at The Church at Rock Creek, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's honor to The Church at Rock Creek.
