Shirley Ann Harper

Shirley Harper, age 75, of Sheridan, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1949, in Lexa, Arkansas, to the late Woodrow Wilson Henley and Pearl Mattie May Henley.

She was known for her warm heart, love for her family, and creative spirit. She especially enjoyed sewing and crafting-talents she lovingly used to make clothes for her children and grandchildren, leaving behind cherished memories stitched into every piece.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Harper; her parents; and three brothers, Bobby Henley, Jerry Henley, and Terry Henley.

Shirley is survived by her children: two sons, Rodney Harper (Dawn) and Heith Harper (Savanna); and one daughter, Lisa Harper Thompson (Lance) and a bonus child, Carmen Hearon. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda House (John) of Sheridan; her brother, Mike Henley (Reneta) of Lonoke; nine grandchildren, Hunter Harper, Logan Harper, Colton Harper, Alexis Dousay (Ritchie), Alyssa Thompson, Jacoby Thompson, Alli Harper, Ryan Harper, and Clay Fleming; four great-grandchildren and three on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, Arkansas. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at a private family cemetery in Joaquin, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home of Benton.
