Brian Alan Oman

of Little Rock, AR

January 4, 1973 - June 4, 2025

Brian Alan Oman, age 52, of Little Rock, our red-headed guitar-playing musician, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 after a valiant fight against acute myeloid leukemia. Brian, the proud son of Irish immigrants, was born on January 4, 1973 in Little Rock, attended Our Lady of Holy Souls School and was a 1991 graduate of Catholic High School for Boys. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Social Work. He was a licensed Clinical Social Worker and worked for several decades in the mental health field, most recently at the Centers for Youth and Families as the Clinical Director of the Adult Day Treatment Program. He was devoted to helping the underserved and widely praised by co-workers and others who were lucky enough to have him as a mentor and colleague. He was beloved by his clients and worked tirelessly to provide critical services and programs to them.

Brian was a gifted musician and was never happier than when he was jamming, singing and strumming live on stages throughout Central Arkansas with his friends and bandmates from Good Foot, Fried Pies, Lazy Bone and Sideshow over the years. He lit the stage on fire at the old Afterthought, Cregeen's Pub, Four Quarter and many other venues.

Besides his work and music, Brian was most passionate about his family and friends. His million dollar smile, magnetic personality and Irish wit drew people from all walks of life to him. If you ever met Brian, you never forgot him…. and he never forgot you. He leaves behind a legacy of steadfast service to the mental health community and loyal devotion to his friends and family.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, John Oman.

He is survived by his mother Mary Oman; fiancee, Julia Pisano; son, Ian Oman; brother, Noel (Cynthia) Oman and nephew, Brendan Oman all of Little Rock and his daughter, Molly Oman of Fayetteville. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth (Carroll) Scroggin of Jonesboro; along with his brother, John (Sinead) Oman of Killorglin, Ireland and nephew, Fearghus Oman of London, England and his granddaughter, Murphy Smith. He will be greatly missed by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the United States and beyond. He is also greatly missed by his beloved dog, June Bug and his cats, Frankie, Sasha, Heidi and Misha. Brian's family and friends would like to thank Julia Pisano, Molly Oman and Dr. Carroll and Ruth Scroggin for their devoted care of Brian during more than five months of treatments and hospitalizations.
