Tommy Jurl Hendrix, 87, of Jonesboro, AR passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on December 3, 1937 to Tom and Laverne Hendrix, Tommy lived a full and faithful life rooted in service, family and community.

A proud veteran, Tommy served in the National Guard and played a role in a pivotal moment in history, assisting with the integration of Little Rock Central High School. His commitment to duty and justice carried through in every aspect of his life.

In February of 1957, Tommy began what would become a lifelong career with Mid-South Plumbing. He remained there until his retirement in January of 2004, forming enduring friendships and becoming a cornerstone of the company. He especially cherished his morning coffee gatherings with his Mid-South Plumbing crew.

Tommy was the devoted husband of 44 years to Delores Hendrix, the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful family and home filled with love, laughter and faith. She precedes him in death along with his parents; brothers, Russell Hendrix and Joe Hendrix; son in law, Tom Parker and brothers in law, W.E. Cooper and Jerry Burnett.

Tommy is survived by his children, Scott (Mendy) Hendrix and Gaye Parker; his cherished grandchildren, Landon, Lia and Lila Hendrix; his sisters, Ina Cooper and Peggy Burnett; his sisters in law, Wanda Hendrix and Earline Hendrix and his beloved grand dog, Toot; as well as many other family, friends and loved ones.

A faithful member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Tommy loved God deeply and lived his faith daily. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as working Sudoku puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and fixing anything that was broken. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.

Tommy's quiet strength, steady hands and kind heart touched many. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, hard work and unconditional love.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

A celebration of his life will be held by way of a graveside service on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR, beginning at 11am with Ken Stallings officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Heath Hendrix, Jeremy Hendrix, Jackson Hendrix, Cody Hendrix, Andy Stallings and Paul David Stallings.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Tommy's memory to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home.
