Joe Delton ''Tutor' Miller, 94, was born January 14, 1931, in Amarillo, Texas to Joe T. and Ora Smith Miller, the seventh of nine siblings, departing from his life on May 10, 2025.
Joe married his sweetheart, Bernice ''Dovie'' Harris February 9, 1951, and a short nine months later, left to serve his country as a United States Marine. Joe was honorably discharged in 1953 and returned home to Little Rock where he and Bernice raised their family.
Joe spent 30 years employed at AFCO Steel in Little Rock and was also a small engine repairman and overall jack of all trades, working for many prominent area residents over the many years he lived in Little Rock. 30 years at the foundry wasn't Joe's longest or proudest job, this job went to being a grandpa. For 53 years, Grandpa Tutor spent many, many days doting on his grandchildren, numerous fishing trips, jeep rides, naps on the tractor, playing in the dirt, or even changing baby dolls, his grandchildren could do no wrong, and just their presence was always more apricated by him than anyone's presents; he loved his grandchildren.
Proceeding Joe in death are his parents, his brothers J. E., J. T., and David, sisters, Iva Joe, Faye, and Willie, and in infant sibling.
Joe is survived by his wife of 74 years, their three children, daughter Joetta (Jerry) of Russellville, sons Robert, and Danny (Sherry) of Little Rock, and one brother, Allen Miller (Mayflower), six grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
