Evelyn Mae Martin

Evelyn Mae (Breece) Martin was born in Everton, Arkansas on March 20, 1933 to Seab C. Breece and Lorena Mae (Kerr) Breece. She passed from this life in Harrison, Arkansas on May 6,2025 after a short illness. She married James Arthur Martin (193I-2O20) on November 29,1953. To
this union were born Judith Anne (Martin) Newton of Fulshear, Texas, and Kim Lea (Martin) Wise of Romance, Arkansas. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Matthew David Wise and Samantha Elizabeth Amanda (Newton) McCurry (spouse Curtis Aaron McCurry) and one great
grandchild CJ (Curtis James) McCurry. She was also blessed with two stepchildren and 6 step great grandchildren
.
She and her husband James were proud owners of AQHA Quarter Horses that competed in Western Pleasure, winning high honors in multiple national and local competitions and qualifying for the AQHA World Quarter Horse show. She also had a special place in her heart for
some of her special dogs, over the years, especially Gypsy and Callie.

She attended elementary school in Everton, transferring to Valley Springs for high school, which she graduated from.

She worked at various jobs over the years including the Levi Strauss garment factory, Boone County Hospital, the Security Bank, the Family Doctor's Clinic, as well as assisting in James' Farm Bureau lnsurance office.

Until the last couple of weeks of her life, she was a very sharp, independent and proud person She was known affectionately by children and grandchildren as the energizer bunny for her ability to just keep going.

She is preceded in death by her parents (Seab C. and Lorena Breece), her husband James A. Martin, sister Anabelle Breece, brother Joe Rowan Breece, and son-in-law David Howard Wise.

Pall Bearers are Matthew Wise, Samantha McCurry, Aaron McCurry, Paul Roten, Mike Parkinson, and Anthony Henson.
