George R. McClaine, 73, a resident of Lamar, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, in Clarksville. He was born May 13, 1951, to the late John and Vera Ann (Roberson) McClaine in Lamar.
George worked as a logger and pipeliner, and loved the travel that came with the job. He was a member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge #370 and enjoyed participating in those activities with his brothers. George loved to help people, and everyone loved his legendary stories. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drag racing. His family was the highlight of his life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Evonne Rose (Tate) McClaine; a brother in-law, Randy Hendrix; and a sister in-law, Molly McClaine.
Those that are left to cherish the memories of George are his son, Nathan McClaine of Lamar; his daughter, Alicia McClaine of Lamar; an adopted son, Ronnie Potter of Lamar; two brothers, Kenneth McClaine and wife Brenda of Lamar, and Carl McClaine of Clarksville; two sisters, Carolyn Hendrix, and Shirley McClaine both of Arizona; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mac Arthur Clark, Donald Clark, Marcus Crutchfield, Mitchell Crutchfield, Gerald Palmer, Eugene Palmer, Leon Bachus, Larry Yarbrough, Donnie Johnson, Allen Cameron, and the members of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge #370.
A Graveside service for George will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 09, 2025, at Holman Cemetery with Dale Rowbotham officiating.
