Richard Clark Faulkner

of Conway, AR

January 25, 1951 - July 26, 2024

Richard Clark Faulkner, Sr, 73 years of age, of Conway. AR passed away due to complications from Dementia on 7/26/24. He was born on 1/25/1951 to the late BJ and Cecile Faulkner.

He grew up in Little Rock, AR and was known as "Dickie Faulkner" to most and was a 1969 graduate of Central High School. He was President of his senior class at Central and excelled on the football field as the quarterback. Richard went on to continue his sports career playing football and baseball at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. He married his bride of 50 years, Brenda Aylett of Nashville, AR and they raised two children in Little Rock, AR. He most recently retired from working in Fayetteville, AR with Scurlock Industries and settled in Conway to be closer to family.

Richard's happy place was always being outdoors on a deer stand, duck blind or with a fishing pole in hand and was able to teach his kids and his grandkids how to hunt and fish back on the Aylett farm in Nashville. He enjoyed going to all of his kids and grandkids events whether it be dancing recitals, baseball, softball, football and volleyball games. He was always there to play catch in the backyard, throw a football, never missed a practice or a game and was the best lifelong coach there ever was. He was also a fierce competitor not only on the football field but loved playing Spade's, Bridge and Dominoes with the family. His smile was contagious, he truly had the gift of being an animal or baby whisperer and he never ceased to make you laugh.

Richard never forgot a name or a face and made the best set of lifelong friends (Jim May, Rodney Herndon, Tim Stuthard, Jerry Carlisle, Rick Abbott, Steve Moore and Robbie Moore) that he considered family. Richard also grew up with a musically inclined family and this was passed on to him as well and showed when he played the guitar. We have a peace knowing that's his body and mind have been made whole again and he's in the arms of Jesus. And if Richard was here with us today, he would get the last word in and say, "I love you more.".

Richard is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Lindsey Merritt (Blake) and Clark Faulkner (Mary Catherine and grandchildren, Madison and Gracie Faulkner and Briley and Braylin Merritt. He is also survived by sisters, Billie Cornwell (Lamont), Diana Grant (Don); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
