Ricky Larry HogueI am a Veteran.

of Marshall, AR

November 14, 1946 - April 15, 2024

Ricky Larry Hogue, age 77, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at Baxter Health Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on November 14th, 1946 to Thurman Hogue and Dessie Harris Hogue. He married Regina Gremard and they would have shared 55 years of marriage in May.

Ricky graduated high school in 1964 and attended college for a brief 6 weeks. He was drafted into the army at 20. After 6 months he was discharged to take care of his mother. He tried his hand at working at the shirt factory and sale barn but soon decided to start his own business milking cows. Ricky soon met his wife, Regina while she was waitressing at the Downtowner. Ricky and Regina milked and raised beef cattle throughout their marriage. He was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School each week. Ricky enjoyed driving around the farm and looking at his cows. He was able to tell each one apart. He often advised other farmers by saying, "I'm not telling you what to do but...". He loved to go eat fish and spend time with his family. His wife, daughters and granddaughters all spoiled him. He would say, "You have good legs, would you get me a cup of coffee?" Of course, they all would jump up and take care of him. He joked that he tried four times for a boy, but he decided that girls were better. He enjoyed going to the "Office" (local coffee shop) where he would stir everyone up and then leave. He was a generous man. If you came to his house, he wanted to make sure you left with a full belly. Nothing gave him more joy than to feed his grandchildren some of his crazy concoctions, all while making a mess of the kitchen. He was so proud of his family and would often brag on his children and grandchildren saying, "Happy is the man that has his quiver full" and his was overflowing. He would give the best advice like; "you have a head, butt with it", "we put our pants on the same, one leg at a time" and "work hard, play hard". He liked to talk and often made new friends wherever he went. He wasn't fancy and he didn't care if you were either, he would treat you the same regardless. He will be remembered for being a godly man who loved his family and wanted them to have everlasting salvation.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Hogue; children, Alesha (Kevin) Elliott, Kimberly (Nick) Harness, Julie (Thomas) Miller, Ricki (Jason) Campbell; grandchildren, Matt (Hayden) Harness, Abbey (Austin)Turner, Kaitlinn Hale, Savannah Hale, Logan (Evie) Harness, Holton Collier, Megan (Jonathon) Baysinger, Dyllan Collier, Lizzy Hale, Toby Campbell, Lily Campbell and Connor Miller; great-grandchildren, Meikayla Buckner, Kevin Buckner, Ella Buckner, Drake Buckner, Maylee Turner, Raelinn Martinez and brother, Jim (Gerda) Hogue of Oregon.
