Cleve Elton Treat

of Pangburn, AR

March 27, 1944 - March 4, 2024

Cleve Elton Treat, 79, of Pangburn, AR went to his heavenly home on March 4, 2024. On a high mountain top in Northern White County near the community of Spring Valley on March 27, 1944, Mozella Margaret Treat gave birth to her eleventh child, Cleve Elton Treat. Two more sons would be born to George and Mozella Treat, thirteen children, eleven boys and two girls. Sadly to say Cleve was preceded in death by his parents and all ten of his brothers: Owen, Tom, Judon, Bill, J.D., Dwayne, Deral, Steve, Larry and David, as well as one sister, Carley Treat Long.

Cleve is survived by his wife, Darliss and one beautiful sister, Fern Treat Pledger.

Cleve and Darliss met and started dating on Halloween in 1961 at the age of seventeen. Of course, he always told her she got the Treat for Trick or Treat. Their dating period and engagement lasted fourteen years. They were married on December 31, 1975. During this period Darliss pursued a degree in education and became an elementary school teacher while Cleve opened his own body shop, Cleve Treat's Body Shop. They were devoted to each other. He helped her in her classroom and she kept books at the body shop for him. They were inseparable.

Cleve was a perfectionist in his work as an auto body technician. He loved his work and his customers. He treated people as he wanted to be treated, with kindness, respect and professionalism. He had a strong work ethic which he developed on the farm. With this welcoming, friendliness and fairness attitude he became a successful business leader in the community. But more important than that, he valued his customers and became lifelong friends with them.

Cleve was a devoted Christian. His membership is at the United Methodist Church at Pangburn. He served his church as song leader, youth director and on the welcoming committee. He was a man who was a kind, generous, hardworking, dedicated true Christian.

His big objective in life was helping people by serving them. He enjoyed many terms on the Pangburn City Council. His goal was to make Pangburn a place where you would want to live, raise a family, go to church and the best place for children to get an education. He loved serving on the board of the White River Area on Aging. This gave him the opportunity to provide better housing for the people of Pangburn. A place to call home. He served on the board of directors of Unity Hospital for many years. He tried to ensure that all people of White County had good medical care. He served on the board of directors of the Henderson Cemetery of Pangburn, trying to establish a beautiful, well-kept place for your final resting place.

Cleve Elton Treat would like to be remembered as a man who loved God and his family. A man that has improved the lives of others.
