Joycealene "Joyce" Magyar

of Conway, AR

February 14, 1937 - February 15, 2024

Joyce F. Magyar, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother entered peacefully into the Lord's presence in the early morning hours of February 15th, just one day after celebrating her 87th birthday on St. Valentine's Day, following several years of multiple debilitating illnesses.

Joyce was known for her special gift of hospitality, her gentle spirit and her servant heart. For several years, she worked with blind children in Colombia, South America.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul Wilson Rauls and Mae Alene Pope, the oldest of four children.

Joyce was married to John G. Magyar in St. Louis, Missouri on December 22, 1956. The couple was blessed with six children; Debbie (Ed), John Jr. (Melinda), Paul (Mary), Kimberly (Brian), Sharon (Terry) and Susan (Waylon); 16 grand children and 14 great-grand children.

After studies at St. Louis Baptist College, the University of Missouri-Columbia and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Joyce served with her husband as a Southern Baptist Missionary for 35 years in Colombia, South America.

Upon retirement, the Magyars settled in Conway, Arkansas in 2003.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, February 18th, 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway to celebrate Joyce's life.

Internment is in Crestlawn Memorial Park, Friday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m.
